O primeiro-ministro turco Recep Tayyip Erdogan mantém, a partir de hoje, uma programada visita aos países do Norte de África apesar das manifestações contra o Governo, de acordo com fontes citadas pela AFP.

Segundo as fontes ligadas ao chefe do executivo contactadas pela France Presse, Erdogan deve deslocar-se ainda hoje a Marrocos, tal como previa o programa divulgado antes do início das manifestações que começaram na sexta-feira.

"Erdogan vai deslocar-se a Marrocos, depois à Argélia e depois à Tunísia. Vai passar uma noite em cada um destes países" e prevê-se que regresse à Turquia na quinta-feira, disse a mesma fonte que pediu para não ser identificada.

A vaga de contestação na Turquia começou com um protesto para salvar um parque no centro de Istambul, mas alargou rapidamente a outras cidades e tornou-se numa contestação ao Governo conservador de inspiração islâmica do Partido Justiça e Desenvolvimento. Desde sexta feira que os confrontos se repetem.
