As séries "Modern Family", "Breaking Bad" e "Behind The Candelabra" confirmaram a sua condição de favoritas, coroando-se, esta noite, como melhor comédia, drama e minissérie ou telefilme na 65.ª edição dos Emmy.

O ator Neil Patrick Harris foi o 'mestre' da gala de entrega dos prémios, considerados os "Óscares" do pequeno ecrã nos Estados Unidos, que decorreu no Teatro Nokia, em Los Angeles, na qual os galardões foram muito repartidos.

"Behind the Candelabra" foi a vencedora absoluta em termos do número de galardões este ano, ao somar, esta noite, três aos oito técnicos que já tinha conseguido noutra gala no passado fim-de-semana.

Além de ser a melhor longa-metragem televisiva, esta produção da HBO permitiu a Michael Douglas e a Steven Soderbergh conquistarem os primeiros Emmy das suas carreiras.

Michael Douglas foi considerado o melhor actor em minissérie ou telefilme, enquanto Steven Soderbergh leva para casa o galardão de melhor realizador na mesma categoria.

Douglas e Soderbergh não foram os únicos premiados com Óscar a estrearem-se nos Emmy, uma vez que David Fincher arrecadou o prémio de melhor realizador de série dramática por "House of Cards", o qual entra para a história como o primeiro prémio atribuído pela Academia de Televisão dos Estados Unidos a uma produção emitida na Internet.

As séries "Modern Family", "Veep", "Breaking Bad" e "Homeland" disputaram, esta noite, um interessante 'braço-de-ferro' para ver qual se impunha como melhor comédia e melhor drama, numa balança, cujo prato pendeu para "Modern Family" e "Breaking Bad", respectivamente, em linha com os prognósticos, apesar de o triunfo ter sido um sabor 'agridoce'.

Um das grandes surpresas foi o triunfo de Jeff Daniels como melhor actor dramático por "The Newsroom", na medida em que Bryan Cranston era apontado como favorito para conquistar o seu quarto Emmy por "Breaking Bad".

"Nesta altura, a televisão está cheia [de talento], é um grande momento para se estar na televisão", disse Jeff Daniels, aos jornalistas, após receber a estatueta.

Mais aberta foi a disputa pelo prémio de melhor actor em comédia, conquistado por Jim Parsons, em "The Big Bang Theory", que arrecadou o segundo Emmy da sua carreira.

Nas categorias principais de interpretação feminina confirmaram-se os prognósticos, com Claire Danes a repetir o seu êxito de 2012, como melhor actriz de drama por "Homeland" e Julia Louis-Dreyfus a arrecadar o Emmy equivalente em comédia por "Veep".

Laura Linney vingou como a melhor actriz em minissérie ou telefilme pelo seu papel em "The Big C: Hereafter".

Nem a colombiana Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family"), nem a brasileira Morena Baccarin ("Homeland") conquistaram o Emmy para o qual estavam nomeadas nas categorias de melhor actriz secundária em comédia e em drama, respectivamente.

Merritt Wever ("Nurse Jackie") impôs-se a Vergara e Anna Gunn ("Breaking Bad") a Baccarin.

Já os melhores atores secundários foram Tony Hale ("Veep") e Bobby Cannavale ("Boardwalk Empire"), respectivamente, nas categorias de comédia e de drama.

A cerimónia de entrega dos Emmy teve um dos momentos mais emotivos com os tributos a Cory Monteith, Jean Stapleton, Jonathan Winters, Gary David Goldberg e James Gandolfini, com este último a ser recordado em palco por Edie Falco, mulher do seu famoso personagem Tony Soprano em "The Sopranos".

A 65. ª edição dos Emmy consagrou "Saturday Night Live" como o programa com mais Emmy de todos os tempos - num total de 40 - e confirmou "Mad Men" como a grande derrotada, dado que, em 2012 e 2013 acumulou 30 nomeações, das quais 12 este ano, e zero vitórias.
